It will fly great on a direct drive speed 400 and is small enough for park flying, but fast enough for a little bit of "hot rodding". The wing, as shipped, is a 40 inch span but this plane flies nice and a little faster with a clipped wing at about 30 inches. However, at that wing span, it is not much of a glider so spot your landing zone before shutting down and throttle back to settle in. The e-Plane comes with coroplast tail surfaces and fuselage doublers with the typical JKA pink foam and tape construction method. As usual, our method provides a very tough plane that can be built quickly and inexpensively. Optional nose vent and battery door cutouts are provided for e-power, or they can be left un-cut for gas power. Use our Slick Mount and a Norvel 061 for EXTREME RC speed and aerobatics. We will also have an optional tapered wing available for a nominal up-charge. These photos are shown using white tape with light green tape trim and the canopy is sanded and sprayed with dull aluminum paint. Automotive 1/4 inch striping tape completes the look. This is another one of our planes finished in red and yellow tape with silver Krylon over tape on the canopy and black electricians tape trim.
Hook up a Norvel 061 or 074 and our Slickmount and you have an incredible handful. I just received an e-mail from a customer who stuffed a .15 size gas engine in it and he said it was super fast and flew great! Spar the wing though!
This is a parts layout of the kit. Each kit includes a roll of colored tape, control horns, and piano wire for pushrods. As you can see, they are very simple and easy to assemble. All the foam is CNC hot wire cut. The fuselage doublers and tails are die-cut. You can sand the fuselage to a smooth shape or leave it blocky if you want. With a little sculpting, you will end up with a very nice looking plane - but then that isn't the goal. The goal is to have maximum fun at minimum cost with un believable durability.

From any angle, the e-Plane just looks fast and it scoots right along using our 6v 400 motor or the 480 motor. I suppose there are faster motors out there and the fuselage is sized so that most any motor of that genre should work fine. I should add that it is a very easy plane to fly with no surprises and the 40 inch wing will allow some thermal advantage also. ~~There is no reason why this plane couldn't be finished with a pointed nose and turned into a cool little Pocket Slope machine.~~ No need to figure it out yourself as we already did it for you.
