Stuff you might need to build a complete flying model
This page is just for general reference. The prices and product may or may not be available
A lot of you call and want to know what it takes to build our radio control airplane kits so this is a list of recommended items, most of which we carry in our store. If you have been into the hobby of radio control for some time, you probably have a lot of the little things you need. Those of you new to the sport who are starting from scratch will need to make an initial investment that will seem a bit large, particularly with electric planes. Keep in mind that most of the expensive equipment can be transferred to other planes as you progress.
The first two groups are gas and electric versions of our T52 Trainer and last will be recommended equipment for our combat foamies.
This is what you will need for a starter kit to make a flyable airplane. JK Aerotech can supply all the electric power supplies and most of the glow powered supplies. At the bottom of the glow list, you will find a list of support products that you will need to get you started, most can be found at local hobby shops or mail order. The only other equipment you will need to assemble the plane is various knives, sandpaper etc. All this is out lined in the kit.

Fuel we have Norvel fuel in quarts, can only be shipped ground UPS to the states -- call for availability Field battery , we now have those in stock -- call Electric starter (very good investment), we now have those in stock -- call Shipping, USA only $8.50 (extra for international) subtotal---------------------- $233.42 low end, $288.42 with four channel radio. Total------------------------- $275.45 or w/3 channel $216.44 To be successful with glow powered aircraft, it is very helpful to invest in a hand held electric starter that can be run off your car battery or a motorcycle battery. A simple starter can be made out of a cordless drill and a socket filled with silicone. Just grease a spinner with Vaseline and push it into the silicone and let it cure -- presto you have a starter. It probably wont spin too fast but usually you just bump the prop anyway. Gas engines are more powerful than the electric system below and with our Slickmount, will run 10 to 15 minutes on a tank. You will need a flying field that will tolerate noise and they are oily and messy. However with all the noise and mess I do like gas because it is a little more exciting than the electric. So there is a trade off either way and each system has definite benefits. Prices subject to change with out notice. |

Prices subject to change with out notice. This set will include everything you will need to get your plane up and flying. Electric is a nice way to go for the first experience or just plain relaxing flying. You can fly at most any school yard or park, even your back yard with out bothering anyone. And there is no mess to clean up!! This set includes three battery packs so while you fly one, one is cooling and one is charging. So flying can be almost non-stop. They fly for about 6 to 7 min full speed on a charge and the speed control will pulse the motor to let you know when to find a landing spot. If you find a thermal, just turn the motor off and glide. I have been up 20 or 30 minutes at a time. Our charger is the best we have found for the price. It is fully automatic and will peak the batteries to the max then switch to a trickle charge. I have also used it to recharge my transmitter battery at the field. The charger will run off a car battery or with an optional cord will plug into 110vac.

| 1/12 Scale combat kits
If you are checking this section, most of you will already have a lot of the parts and supplies for these kits. We can supply most everything except the larger engines available (we will have Norvel .25 soon) so check the list and see if there is anything we could help with. 1/12 scale kit $30 - $35 .15 to .26 engine $49 - $89 Tank 4oz ? $4.50 Motor mount about $3 to $4 Ern20 Goop Glue 1oz tube $2.99 Goop1 Strapping tape $4 Strap tp Spray Glue $7 call Pushrod Connectors $2.50 - pack of 4 connect1 Props $1.75-$2.50 Fuel filler $3.95 Nor1 Glow Starter $18.99 to $22.50 Call Fuel we have Norvel fuel in quarts, can only be shipped ground UPS to the states -- call for availability Field battery , we now have those in stock -- call Electric starter (very good investment), we now have those in stock -- call This and various paints and sandpapers should get your kit up and running. We usually have standard 4 channel Hitec radio systems in stock for about $130 so if you need one, we should have one. Also, we keep in stock FMA's micro receivers and crystals for most channels. You could use full size servos but we would recommend a micro (FMA S80) for the throttle and if you want to save weight, use the FMA 100 for the elevator. You could use the S100 for the ailerons also but a full sized servo will work too, In the case of the Corsair, we would recommend one FMA S100 in each wing with our Y connector.
